Christmas has been. It was weird and lovely at the same time. Bit weird because I think I fell out of the normal Christmas habit last year, and because I want to move on now, and more than anything create new Christmas traditions. Lovely because we were all together and the kids were here and it was great. The highlight was little Benji whispering to his mum auntie looks really pretty, after we had done our glucose-tests together. Mayhem is also a word to describe it.. 5 kids in one living room opening all their presents at the same time. Yeah..
I got to spend awesome quality time with my BFF on Skype, which was awesome! For Christmas he got me a coffee-machine!!!! It’s waiting for me in Sydney, so I better get back there. (Maybe that’s why he got it?!) Also, since it was my 21st birthday he got me 21 little surprises. (: It was lovely! There was a boquet of roses, Tim Tam’s(!) and Gloria Jean’s coffee, just to mention some. Oh, and this GORGEOUS KikkiK planner for 2009. It’s PINK!! YES!! All things pink!!!
Here’s the pictures
our Christmas tree – decorated by me at about 1am
pretty roses (:
AND I got Aussie Diet Coke!!
the overflow at my brother’s house
Digging through the ocean of presents
It doesn’t take much to make me smile
floor or paper?
Crank it UP!
mine – I wish!

Knitting, parcels in the mail, and Friends is a great way of getting hardcore Visa thinking out of your head. Here’s the story..
I’ve always wanted glasses, because I think it’s pretty much totally cool. But I’ve always heard from the doctor that I have perfect vision.. As late as a week ago, my Visa doctor told me I had great vision. Thanks a lot.. So last week I got sick of it all, got on Ebay and found a pair of glasses, with no prescription, and today they arrived in my mailbox. They’re pretty much awesome, and I love them!! Also I’ve been knitting lately, which I’m first of all not really skilled at (my skills goes as far as knitting a scarf or a headband), and secondly I’m not so much capable to knit, because my hands hurt after one row.. But over the last week I’ve decided to pick up knitting again, and I’m making some cool Christmas presents, and something for myself. My hands aren’t hurting as much as they used to, and it’s a lot of fun! Creativeness, oh yeah!
During all of this, Friends have been my faithful companion. I’ve gone through seasons 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and am now onto season 4. Yes, I watch the seasons backwards. Much funner.

I would like to say that I’m having Visa troubles, but I’m not really. It feels like it, but I’m not really having them… Since I don’t have a flight booked, and since I’m not needing to be in Australia by a certain date, it’s not really that big of a deal how long it’s gonna take to process my application. However, I’m terrified they might not let me back in the country. I know that it’s highly unlikely they won’t let me in, but it has become such a nagger in my head… I’m over Norway and ready to move on. So I have made Jabez prayer into my prayer…. “Oh, that you would bless me, and enlarge my territory!”
I can’t do much but to wait and pray. I had my medical exams, I’ve done everything by the book. Unfortunately I hate waiting.. Just ask James.

Sleep. The lack of it. I have a well known syndrom which comes and goes as it wishes. It’s called insomnia. At especially stressful times, or at times when I’m waiting for something big, say a Visa process, the insomnia kicks in big time.
When it comes insomnia and Australia, it usually (I mean both times) kicks in about 2 months before I fly out. It is now 2 months until I fly out, and the insomnia is ridiculously accurate. The current theme that keeps me awake is my application for an Australia Visa. Last year when we applied for it, it took them literally 5 minutes to receive, process and grant our student visas. This time, it seems they intend to spend some more time looking at it. And it’s driving me nuts. I want to know NOW!! (have I mentioned I’m a very impatient person?)
So dear Visa- granting people. If you read this – I think you all are so great!!! Please grant me access to your amazing country!!

I sure was right with my thinking that God is up to something way new for me this upcoming season, and I sure was right re-naming my blog “new chapters”. Because there sure will be some.
The big news is I’m not going to College in January. I’m still going back to Sydney, because let’s face it, why wouldn’t you? Due to financial reasons, I’m not able to pay my College fees, so I need to wait some more before I can go back to class. But I’m going to Australia on a working holiday. Basically the immigration department lets you come to Australia on a 12 month holiday, whilst you can work to pay your way through it. For me it means getting to go back to the church and the ministry that I love, to the man that I love, and I get to be in a place where I believe God wants me. Plus I get to work and make money and go on trips, and have much more freedom to do other stuff, than I would be if I would be doing Colllege. Don’t get me wrong, I really want to do College again, but I’m really excited about the change and the new adventure that God has put before me. It’s not like all of this is coincidental. Also I’m very pumped because I have found flights for very cheap! Life is good!
Ps. immi.gov.au is my new favourite site!
